Who Meth Kills
Meth kills people from all walks of life, rich and poor, white and black, and so much more. Meth kills homes, schools, families, relationships, hopes and dreams, and lives. Live for yourself, or live for the drug. The truth is, meth makes you feel good. That's what it's chemically designed to do. It's also chemically designed to damage, enslave and kill people like you and me. Try to imagine your 3 yr old son or daughter being dragged away by the police and CPS, kicking and screaming and crying for you.

How Meth Is Made
Household chemicals that are used to cook meth include flammable solvents, like methanol, ether, benzene, methylene chloride, trichloroethylene, and toluene. Other chemicals are sodium hydroxide, muriatic acid, ammonia, table salt, over-the-counter cold medications containing ephedrine or pseudoephedrine, hydrochloric acid, drain cleaner, battery acid, lye, lantern fuel, and anti-freeze.
There are many ways to make meth and many different chemicals are used. Most of those chemicals used are commonly found in our homes. Handling these toxic chemicals is very hazardous to your health as well the environment. Meth is made from a very easy recipe and can be cooked and ready in a few hours from a mobile lab that can be relocated to avoid detection of any fumes or vapors that are associated with the process as well as keep the waste out of the cookers home. The contaminates are easily discarded in public places in a matter of seconds.

These may cause nausea, headaches, dizziness, and eye and skin burns and irritation. The contamination present in a former meth lab can affect soil, ground water, air, furniture, and structure materials, such as flooring, vents, and walls. Many of the contaminants present during the cooking process can be harmful if humans or pets are exposed to them. Cases have been reported where children and adults living in a house or other structure that formerly contained a lab encountered lingering health problems.

How Meth is Used
Meth can be swallowed, snorted, smoked, injected, inserted anally, or into the urethra. Addiction is greater when it is injected into the blood, as the effects are faster and more intense.

About Meth-Kills

The Forum was created as a place for sharing ideas, asking questions, blogging, and helping others as well as getting help in the fight against addiction.
Ultimately, the choice between life or Meth is up to the individual. Hopefully this information will help you make the right choice, or help you help someone else make that choice.

I started using Meth when I was 16 yrs old. I was just a weekend user, I moved to Sacramento, CA when I was 21 and became a roofer. Let me tell you, finding Meth in Sacramento is as easy as finding shells at the beach. It was cheap, clean, and powerful. Sometimes I would stay up for 8 - 10 days in a row, then I would eat and sleep for 2 days and do it all over again. I felt like Superman for about 16 yrs.
In 2006, my daughter was born pos-tox and CPS was notified. She was taken from the hospital and placed into foster care, along with my 3 yr old son. That cheap powerful stuff that made me feel like Superman was not even powerful enough now. I hated CPS at that time, when I should have hated myself! I was court ordered to participate in and complete the Dependency Drug Court (DDC) in order to get my kids back. To graduate a client must complete the following for 90 - 180 consecutive days:
* Drug test negative 2-3 times weekly (random tests are employed);
* Attend all treatment groups or individual sessions required;
* Attend all scheduled meetings with their STARS Recovery Specialists;
* Attend three or more support group or 12-step meetings weekly;
* Attend all required DDC appearances; and
* Complete all requirements of the Court.
After enrolling into drug court and getting a recovery specialist (Lucas A), I was on my road to recovery, a long, narrow, winding, uphill road. I was referred to a 6 month out-patient substance abuse treatment program in Sacramento (MAAP). After the first month I could not believe how smooth everything was going, I actually enjoyed going to the treatment program, even looked forward to it. And before I knew it, I had finished everything successfully without any problems. It helps when you like the Judge, your recovery specialist, and your counselors. Because they have been where I was, so they understood me better. I can honestly say that I am now glad that CPS came into my life and saved me!
Exactly one year after being clean, I suffered a heart-attack and had surgery. Having heart problems at the young age of 37 is enough to scare anyone straight! I am happy to say that I have been clean now since Feb 2006.
